15+ SBHA Health Ambassadors are here to support the ideas, questions, and concerns of MSU Denver health students.

We Hear You.

Through the alliance of twenty students from ten Health Institute departments, the Student Board of Health Ambassadors (SBHA) aims to act as a direct channel for MSU Denver health students’ questions, concerns, and ideas to efficiently reach administrators and come to fruition on campus. The interdepartmental collaboration nurtured through SBHA activities aims to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration to transcend campus into the health workforce through illustrating its values in action, while simultaneously supporting Ambassador organization, creative, and communication skills building through immersive leadership experience in preparation for their careers.

Our Mission.

Revolutionize Health through creating leaders that cultivate interdisciplinary collaboration, amplify diverse student voices, and continually inspire innovation with the Health Institute at MSU Denver.

How Do We Fulfill It?

Representing Our Peers.

Our duty as Health Ambassadors is to amplify fellow health student voices within MSU Denver health education, and to help support bringing ideas for change and innovation to fruition on campus.

Innovating from Experience.

As current students in health and behavioral health, we bring our unique perspectives, diverse identities, and intersectionalities to the table when pursuing our goals every academic year.

Creating the Health Institute.

The SBHA's foremost responsibility is to serve as a comfortable, understanding, and direct bridge between MSU Denver health students and Health Institute administration.

FAQs

How do I apply?

The applications for the Fall 2020-2021 year are now closed. Our applications take place at the beginning of every Fall semester. Check our website our follow our socials for updates!

What are the responsibilities of ambassadors?

Ambassadors are student representatives for the students within their respective departments. For example, if a student is majoring in Healthcare Management, they would be a Health Professions Ambassador. We expect for the Health Professions ambassadors to bring forward perspectives and knowledge from being a current health student in their department to the table when working on developing the Health Institute or making changes we initiate on campus. If a student reaches out with questions, concerns, or ideas regarding the Health Professions department, it is the responsibility of the Health Professions ambassadors on the board to address and support that student.

The united goal of the board is to fulfill our mission to represent our peers, help create changes on campus, and to foster our leadership skills, simultaneously.

FAQs

What are the SBHA committees mentioned in the constitution?

Within the board, there are four committees: Student Outreach, Events & Marketing, Service Learning, and Fundraising. Our ambassadors make up these committees, and work alongside each other to fulfill goals that we set each semester and/or academic year.

What is the expected commitment of being an ambassador?

This position will require a commitment to two one-hour board meetings monthly, as well as at least one short committee meeting monthly. There is also a commitment of one academic year for the position. Because of this, we will not accept applicants graduating or leaving MSU Denver before Spring of 2021.

How are you currently conducting your meetings?

At this time all of our meetings are taking place over Zoom for the safety and health of everyone on the board.
